Taliban Chief Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada orders release of thousands of political prisoners in Afghanistan
A couple of days after the Taliban freed thousands of prisoners when they took control in Kabul on August 15, its chief Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada on Wednesday issued a general amnesty decree ordering the release of political prisoners from all prisons in Afghanistan.
