Mumbai civic body on alert with covid positivity rate at 6%; officials asked to ramp up testing

Mumbai Covid cases: Mumbai civic body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday warned the public as Covid cases saw an exponential rise in the city. BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal asked civic officials to ramp up coronavirus testing immediately. He also asked to keep the staff of jumbo field hospitals on alert in the wake of a "tremendous" rise in fresh COVID-19 cases in the city over the past few weeks. Mumbai recorded over 500 Covid cases on Monday with the daily positivity rate touching 6%.
