‘Truly broad-based’ alliance will be formed in UP as elections approach: Chidambaram hopeful for rethink on SP-BSP coalition

After the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party announced a seat-sharing pact in Uttar Pradesh for upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Saturday, senior Congress leader P Chidambaram Saturday said his party was ready to fight the Lok Sabha elections alone but hoped there would be a rethink on the SP-BSP alliance for Uttar Pradesh.
